Though known primarily as a suburb of Houston, the city of Sugar Land has been attracting a great deal of attention recently as more and more residential and commercial developments enrich the city’s landscape. There are plenty of new homes in Sugar Land to choose from, and quite a few are in a more urban rather than suburban setting.
Despite its many master-planned communities, Sugar Land, with its total area of 24.9 square miles, still has a lot of room. Once the center of an agricultural area, Sugar Land New Homes are located in a lush, naturally beautiful region. Two waterways make their way through the city – Oyster Creek and the Brazos River – and there are quite a few lakes, both natural and manmade, scattered throughout the area. You’ll find some of the new homes in Sugarland on waterfront sites since many of the master-planned communities here feature lakes.
Apart from Housto, other cities located near Sugar Land are Stafford and Missouri City to the east, and Richmond and Rosenberg to the southwest. Also associated with the city are several master-planned communities in unincorporated Fort Bend County. Officially known as extraterritorial jurisdictions, these include the Sweetwater Country Club area, Greatwood, River Park, Riverstone, Sugar Mill and Woodbridge.
